Our client is a prestigious law firm with a Tier 1 ranked funds practice. Their Asset Management - Regulatory team is seeking a talented Associate or Counsel to join their ranks in either Washington DC or New York.

Position Overview:

As an Associate in their Asset Management - Regulatory team, you will join a lean and close knit team with great progression prospects for someone looking to make Partner. This role requires expertise in regulatory compliance, particularly in the application of the Investment Advisers Act to private funds.

Responsibilities:

• Apply your legal knowledge and experience to ensure compliance with the Investment Advisers Act, with a focus on private funds.
• Collaborate with legal teams and other stakeholders to provide regulatory guidance on asset management activities.
• Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations, offering insights into potential impacts and implementing necessary adjustments.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory filings as necessary.
• Provide legal support and advice regarding 40 Act status and exemptions (experience in these areas is beneficial but not mandatory).

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admitted in either DC or NY.
• Between the Classes of 2020 and 2017.
• Prior experience in a law firm or legal setting, with a focus on asset management regulations.
• Familiarity with 40 Act status and exemption processes is advantageous.
  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced legal environment.
