Senior Legal Counsel - London - Hybrid - Insurance experience essential.

Our client is currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to be based in their London City office on a full-time basis, reporting into the Head of Legal.

As a senior member of their established legal function, you will be a trusted advisor to the business handling a variety of Insurance work covering projects, distribution contracts, underwriting wordings, reinsurance, service contracts, regulatory and compliance support. This is a full and varied role within the legal team.

Responsibilities of the Senior Legal Counsel will be:

*To work in their established legal team advising on and co-ordinating the provision of advice on (re)insurance law issues including wordings, delegation and distribution contracts.
*You will be experienced in a variety of commercial and corporate contract issues.
*You will offer support to the Compliance team on regulatory and sanctions matters.
*Work with their Underwriting team and global based lawyers on legal matters.
*Maintain wordings and processes in accordance with group wide policies.
*Advise the business on legal risks and support the business accordingly on training and support on new regulations.

The ideal Senior Legal Counsel will possess.

*Qualified Lawyer -with an insurance background in either In-House or Private Practice
*Background and specialisation in insurance law. Good understanding and experience working with the insurance industry.
